proverbs 10 provides us several pieces of wisdom regarding our speech. One of my favorites is:

Proverbs 10:19 HCSB
It’s always good to think before you speak. Spouting out the first thing that comes to mind is a bad idea. “Ranting” about something will not solve it.
To be wise, one should think about what they are going to say. Process it. Realize the impact your words will have. Pick and choose the best words and leave out the rest.
To be foolish, one should spout out everything that comes to mind. Maybe afterwards you can think about it.
Go thru proverbs 10, there’s lots of good stuff about taking control of your tongue and how it makes you wise.
